Linksys WAG200G

The Linksys WAG200G, and its EU variant (WAG200G-EU), is an ADSL 2+ home gateway which integrates a 4 port switch and an 802.11G wireless acccess point.

Specifications

  • ADSL 1/2/2+ support (up to 24Mbps)
  • 4 10/100 Ethernet port switch
  • IEEE 802.11b/g compliant

Hardware

The router is based on the Texas Instruments AR7 platform (AR7WRD) which features an integrated MIPS(TM)-based 32-bit RISC core, a digital signal processor-based trans- ceiver and an ADSL Analog Front-End (AFE).

Serial Console

The AR7 integrates a dual 16550 UART for remote console: on of the two is accessibile via the 4-pin header (which need to be soldered) (1 in the following picture under the barcode sticker)

The pin layout is:

1 GND (black wire on the photo)
2 TX (white wire on the photo)
3 Vcc (red wire on the photo)
4 RX (blue wire on the photo)

Note that a voltage level adapter need to be done before attaching the pin to the PC serial port. I have successfully attached the serial console as described here (MAX232. Settings are 115200,8,N,1.). You cannot plug directly those pins to your pc serial port. You need a RS232-TTL level adapter.

JTAG

The AR7 JTAG connector is JPXX (2 in picture) The pinout and specifications are the same of others AR7 devices that is 14 ping ejtag 2.6.

The pinout is the following:

TCK   9  10  GND

You can use Hairydairymaid Debrick Utility with a Xilinx cable.
