The NetSurvibox 266 is a router/firewall/VPN made by the now defunct company Irongate S.L. The board has one mini-PCI slot, CF slot attached to the PCI bus through a HighPoint HPT371 IDE controller, two RJ-45 ports (one is NPE-B and the other is a RTL8100 network controller), two USB ports (one USB 2.0 host attached at a VIA VT6212 and one USB 1.1 client attached at the SoC) an a serial port.

This section deals with how you install OpenWrt from a device freshly opened. Plus the steps required such as reset to factory defaults if the device has already been configured
Note: Reset router to factory defaults if it has been previously configured.
If you want to upgrade using TFTP you follow these steps (as an alternative to the above install process.
If you have already installed OpenWrt and like to reflash for e.g. upgrading to a new OpenWrt version you can upgrade using the mtd command line tool. It is important that you put the firmware image into the ramdisk (/tmp) before you start flashing.
cd /tmp/ wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/XXX/xxx.abc sysupgrade /tmp/xxx.abc
cd /tmp/ wget http://downloads.openwrt.org/snapshots/trunk/XXX/xxx.abc mtd write /tmp/xxx.abc linux && reboot
→ Basic configuration After flashing, proceed with this.
Set up your Internet connection, configure wireless, configure USB port, etc.
The default network configuration is:

The board boots with the files: openwrt-ap1000-zImage and openwrt-ixp4xx-generic-squashfs.img, but due to the lack of patches for it, is not stable. The kernel image must be recorded in mtd3 labelled kernel and squashfs or jffs2 image in mtd4 labelled image.
The serial port at bootup is TTYS1.
