Rosewill RNX-N150RT

This is a TL-WR741ND v1 but will only accept firmware with Rosewill vendor bytes (in the file header). OpenWRT currently does not have those bytes. DD-WRT has everything we need, so we use it to bootstrap.

Debricking

Serial Connector Soldering is the only way to recover, be careful! THERE IS NO WAY TO TFTP OVER ETHERNET.

Convert Rosewill RNX-N150RT to a TP-Link TL-WR741NDv1 using DD-WRT

  1. Flash dd-wrt: ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/2012/07-20-12-r19519/rosewill-rnx-n150rt/factory-to-ddwrt.bin this image has Rosewill RNX-N150RT vendor bytes which OpenWRT currently lacks.
  2. Download tl-wr741nd_v1_v2-webrevert.bin from http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=521071#521071 You must be logged in to see it. Be sure that you unrar the file!. The SHA1 checksum of "tl-wr741nd_v1_v2-webrevert.bin" (inside the .rar) is 537d38fc644d905ba0b6f37038d58884952175a6. You can find the file on another website and verify that the checksum matches.
  3. Flash "tl-wr741nd_v1_v2-webrevert.bin". This converts your router to a TP-Link.

Please add native Rosewill support to OpenWRT! See Ticket https://dev.openwrt.org/ticket/11693
